Reading is Fundamental [Open]

[Odd as it might seem, the guy with the giant sword spends most of his free time in the library. Roy gets plenty of exercise in class (Fighter College had less rigorous training than the body-strengthening marefs!), and he's long past the point where routine training drills with his blade can do more than keep the rust off. So instead, Roy has devoted himself to acquiring information -- about the world, about the dungeons, about magic, about anything he can get his hands on, in the belief that any piece of information could prove useful in the long term.]

[Given how little knowledge had accidentally fallen into his lap this far, he definitely believes this campaign is one that requires active, independent research rather than one that conveniently hands over facts and helpful plot details in convenient notes and surprisingly-relevant books.]

[So you might have seen him in the library -- yet again -- or perhaps carrying as many books as he's allowed to take out, back to his room.]

I don't mean to make an unfair generalization... but the arcane casters I've known hated to admit they didn't know something. When you have that many extra skill point from Intelligence and every Knowledge in-class, being the information resource is generally a point of pride.

I don't know how to answer that. I thought so, but I'm starting to realize that a lot of other worlds seem to have much less of it than I would even consider 'rare'.

I see... It's not particularly common where I'm from either. A lot of people don't believe in it and I know maybe two or three people who are capable of practicing it.

Well, that depends. Some people do, some people don't and a lot of people believe in different gods...

And magic isn't really a fact of life where I come from. Almost no one practices it, save for a handful of people. Well, actually I'm not sure if people do...
