There might be a bed, but sleeping is not where it's at.
[Whoever passes by the entrance to the dorms will see a teenager of maybe 14 years, but that age is really only visible in the bits of remaining baby fat and other such details of the facial structure: The brunet looks exhausted, the eyes much too old, acutely so, and more blood than can reasonably be shed by one person is spilt over a greenish military uniform, complete with helmet and everything, that is caked in dust and grime. A rifle is slung over one shoulder, loosely, as if to keep it ready and at hand, but while alert, Kiwi is not about to use it if spooked. There has been too much death in the recent and very recent past to really need more.]
This place looks peaceful. [It's not really meant as a remark to someone, more as a note-to-self kind of finding.]
So [and this is where the nation will adress the world as a whole, or maybe the building that the brunet is standing in front of] everyone here is supposed to dabble or be dabbling in magic. I'm surprised that the city is still standing.
[Having seen and hear about magic what the nation has, Kiwi is not too keen on getting first hand experiences in magic.] I wonder if it is very different from what they do at home.
...There can't be much more time left before I wake up. Standing around here isn't going to make the most of this. [The brunet's expression turns into a smile that speaks of a determination to not let the worries of the waking world affect the inside of a peaceful dream.]

New Zealand? New Zealand!

Yes. [So much is easily doable and won't betray that Kiwi has no clue who this is.] I just arrived here. [The tone might be a bit sheepish
no pun intendedbecause... well, this woman's tone in combination with still having no clue what is going on just seems to draw that kind of reaction out of the dominion.]no subject
[Feels a little guilty that one of hers has been here, wandering about and being hurt without her even thinking to go and look for them. Well, she make up for it now with intense mothering.]

Some bruises and there was a bullet in my leg, but that was taken care of already [aka the bullet was dug out and the blood flow was stopped as well as possible - nation healing rates help a lot with things like that. Kiwi gestures to the part of the pants where the blood has soaked the fabric the most thoroughly] and the blood isn't really mine mostly. [Most of it is that of the men that fell or got heavily injured around their nation. It's always a bit hard to seperate "my blood" from "my people's blood".
Kiwi wants to add something, but then thinks better of it. Telling a fussing person that the fussing isn't necessary hardly ever helps anyone.] I'm as well as you could expect. You know the area? [Because Kiwi would really like to ride one of those carpets before waking up.]

I've been here a few days now, so I'm fairly familiar with the area. It's all rather splendid and odd, dear, you'll see.

I walked here, it's not too bad. [With enough aspirin and the help of interesting and thus distracting surroundings.] I'll just be a bit slower than normal. But faster than a snail, I can promise you that much.
...Unless you can get one of those carpets? [That would kill two birds with one stone, too. As in, curiosity and pace.]

[ Since the idea of magical energy is basically the same in every country where she came from. Even if they had different terms, the core of magic was universal and the guidelines of the magus set. ] Interesting...
But we should get you changed. [ She looks a him up an down. This clearly isn't normal attire for an academy and it would certainly help the newcomer if he didn't make a scene just by showing up with all those stains. ]

You don't happen to know a clothing store around here that accepts trades? [Of... Uh. The brunet looks down the uniform. There's no way that the rifle or anything else that would be needed if there was a sudden turn to violent in this dream, so the options of what could be traded are rather limited... Clothes against clothes would hardly work now, wouldn't it?]]

It should be on the bed in your room.
[ There's some silence. ]
You have been assigned a room, correct?

Xīnxīlán?
[He even tilts his head to the side slightly.]

China, hullo. [This is a dream so the way the uniform and everything looks should not mean much, and though Kiwi's leg still hurts, it can be ignored enough to not show it as long as no walking around is necessary.] You live here? [The question might be odd, but. In dream logic, that could very well be.]
no subject
I really have no choice but to live here now, aru. Just when I was half-way finished with my Christmas shopping too... What a bother.
[They're just sitting in his dorm, now.]

Buying gifts is all I am doing for the most part, though if America has another Christmas party this year I may think about going.
[But he's not eating any cake. All those fluorescent are too much for him.]

Do you need a doctor or something?

...not in this dream, though. Most likely. But what good would it do to get medical help in a dream when other things can be done...]
Thank you for asking, though. Do you live here?

Aside from the whole arrival scenario and everything.]
And pinches don't wake you up from dreams, that's only a thing people say. Unless someone from outside of the dream pinches you, I guess. [It's a bit weird to have this discussion inside a dream, but really. There are no limits to the oddness of dreams, in New Zealand's experience.]

[Kiwi shrugs] There really is no way to really be sure if it was or wasn't a dream until you wake up, but I'd say this place is definitely odd enough to qualify as a dream. I can think of little other reasons for all of this.]
