snow dance
[It's been a long time since Hama had to get used to living somewhere new, but she finds it oddly reassuring that she doesn't like it any more than she did fifteen years ago. It isn't the weather that bothers her, nor the place itself, nor the people in it (with only a few exceptions) - but the simple fact that she's here and never wanted to be, robbed of her Psynergy without warning or explanation, and expected to learn magic simply because it's there? What's the purpose of it all? How did they do it? And what's to happen back home?
Her room is larger than she's used to, with enough space to do at least most of her exercises and forms, especially now that the cold has set in. But she needs more practice with the staff, especially with her magic tied to it, and that hasn't been possible indoors so far. And since the snow doesn't show any signs of letting up, there's only to find a space that's been mostly cleared and practice there.
Thus, Hama can be found in the courtyard, practicing forms. Snowflakes swirl around the ends of the staff and spiral away when it spins, caught in the eddying currents of air produced by her magic.
Feel free to bother her!]

[But not bad enough to be uninterested in another person with some martial skill, even as she forced back the part of her mind that thought of anyone not of the Empire as a barbarian, to get a fair assessment.]
Well...

[It's a level of performance he hasn't seen in a long time -- even the warriors he traded blows with most recently tended to have a far less disciplined style. ('Thog', who had almost certainly been Tarquin, was a notable exception, but given the circumstances he'd had little opportunity or desire to appreciate the skill behind the blows that were mostly hitting him.)]
[Also he isn't above acknowledging that Hama looks good doing it.]
[So all in all, Roy is very happy to simply find a place to lean and watch her display.]
