viens ♔ may december romance
[After having a few encounters under the mistletoe, Latvia was quick to catch on to the kinds of effects it had. He wasn't sure why, maybe it was just normal here much like all the other obscene things that no one gave a second glance at. He might have been a bit cynical but deep down Latvia was a romantic at heart and unless something like this happened on valentines day this would probably be the most attention he'd get from girls all year.
So he sat in a hallway near the girls dormitories with a small palette of paint and a jar of water nearby. With a fine brush he carefully painted a colourful design on the side of a wooden train. It was a slightly clunky shape but well sanded down so the edges were smooth. The plasters around his fingers were proof of his effort. He was a little disappointed he couldn't have used the kind of wood he was used to. He hadn't done much wood carving back home but here it was a nice distraction from his terrible performances in class. At least this was something he could do.
It would be such a good scene. A down to earth heroine and the Latvian toy maker among the quiet halls and the light streaming through the frost kissed windows as their own lips touched.
He'd certainly have to use that in his next novella. Latvia smiled to himself from his place under the mistletoe. As the sounds of footsteps reached his ears he did his best to act busy on his conversation starter. He wasn't going to mess this up]

[He knew it was the effects of the mistletoe, and maybe this had been a bad idea. Latvia still debated about whether he should leave in his head as he spoke]
N-no, I'm fine! I think maybe I've just been concentrating too hard, heh...

And I'm not really that often in Europe, so I might just not have been there when that happened.

[Trying to be subtle he scoots away slightly. There's something about New Zealand that seems... not wrong but slightly odd. Maybe it was because they didn't spend much time together just the two of them but Latvia couldn't help but feel it bother him]
no subject
No, I don't. ...Maybe it will happen in the future, though. Mumland's from the future, too.

[Suddenly the length of the gap doesn't seem so important to him]
What's considered the future to you?

Really? That long...?
That's nearly a century ago for me. Before I came here it was coming to the end of 2012. I suppose the new year must be soon...

[Curious. That would make two of them, and England and New Zealand are still alone... But why?]

[He really doesn't understand the implications]

...and he sounded like it were rather peaceful times.
no subject
Well, I wouldn't say it's completely peaceful but it is a bit of an improvement on what things used to be like.
no subject
[Scooting just a bit closer. Closeness helps with bad memories, right?] That isn't particularely hard, though. The it being more peaceful than it used to be.

[He gives a small chuckle as New Zealand scoots closer. After talking for a while he's become a lot more comfortable. Latvia even inches a little closer himself. It wasn't particularly cold here, was it?]
Heh, well who knows how things will be in the future. Sometimes it feels like it's all changing so fast...
no subject
And things have definitely sped up already. I guess it's something like an x² graph at this point. [The closeness is really nice. Not stopping with the scooting closer.]
